Can My Thought Processes Be Changed?

Thoughts, for the most part, are conditioned and can be changed. Although blaming the way we think on our parents and how we were raised may in fact be accurate, as adults, it is our responsibility to change the way we think. Our thought processes can be changed through awareness and effort, which is a typical combination for any change. Read more…

Life is Complicated…Right?

wolf-looking-up-wildlife_18

Is life complicated or do we just make it so? I believe life is much simpler than we make it. I am sure there will be many of you who are reading this saying to yourselves “life is complicated, what’s he talking about? He doesn’t understand all of the problems I have and they are definitely not simple problems.” If you are thinking along these lines right now or have had similar thoughts in the past, then I say to you, you’re complicating things :) Read more…

Keep Talking About It and It Will Grow

This is part II of Is Venting Good for You

There is a fine line between therapeutic talking and the type of talking that makes your problems bigger. I am walking a tight rope here, I know, as there are most definitely times when we need to discuss our problems in order to find a resolution. Perhaps you are the type that bottles up your feelings and emotions which results in other personal problems. Well then maybe you need to talk more. But maybe instead of talking about your problems, you rehash them over and over in your mind. Either way, talking or thinking too much about life’s problems, can make the problems bigger, not better. Besides, if you are screaming, yelling, ranting or raving, then to some degree, you are already exploding. Read more…

I instead suggest reading the other posts on this site, as spiritual and psychological well being is a result of practicing many spiritual and psychological principles in our lives. So, there may not be necessarily one answer to a given problem but a problem may be solved indirectly as a result of the culmination of our practice. And sometimes the answer lies in simply being aware.

My Problem is Me

01_08_52-duck_webI am my biggest problem. I can blame life all I want but the real problem lies within. I believe this to be true of most people. Life is as good as we make it and how we view life is directly related to our spiritual and psychological condition. There are some people that are naturally healthy spiritually and mentally, whether due to their upbringing, their genes or their karma. They are naturally accepting of life and maintain relative peace and contentment, no matter what there lot. Others will need to work at being happy and peaceful. Read more…

What’s So Great About Life Anyway?

The answer to this question has more to do with what’s going on inside of us more than what’s happening in our lives on the outside. Sure, life may be easier if we’re financially secure and all of our loved ones are healthy but we can still be happy and at peace through life’s trials and tribulations as well. Read more…
